A few years ago I had a big surgery and I was not able to lift anything heavier than five pounds for three months and not get back into heavier lifting for six months. Well six months turned into years. Didn’t take care of myself, had some health problems and lost a lot of muscle. Well recently I finally got tired of being sick and tired. I’ve been eating better, watching the carbs and easing my way back into training. And after a couple of months I started doing a workout similar to something Bill posted on Facebook several years ago. Once a week and very little rest between sets, the “rush factor”. I modified it to work with the equipment I have in my home gym.
Overhead dumbbell press
One arm dumbbell row
Trap bar deadlift
Dumbbell curl with Fat Gripz
I just finished my second workout and I love/hate it! Very demanding but I really think it will help me put back on the 40lbs. of muscle I lost.
What a what a very inspirational story. It just goes to show that whatever you put your mind to no matter how late or how long you can accomplish! It's important to know that muscle memory will be on your side. Interesting enough you're more than likely go beyond your prior muscular weight using the routine that you outlined. Remember once you get stronger something has to change you may have to split that workout as you get stronger and you will know. Try to do it before you start overtraining but the outline of the workout is awesome. Thanks for posting it looking forward to keeping up on your progress. Hit it hard and then go home and let it happen!!
